Fast and fun speed painting. Nice to bust out something quick and loose. I will do more of these, they're great practice.

samurai

18 X 24 charcoal drawing on newsprint. A design for a samurai I refined. I Plan to paint this later.

Here are some very quick color preliminaries of what it might look like:

Beast & Cyclops ideation

these are some very quick ideations of Hank/Henry McCoy a.k.a. Beast and Scott Summers a.k.a. Cyclops. They are quite old and I did very quickly on the side while I was practicing some figure drawing in my newsprint pad. I liked the feel of them though, plus I though there was something interesting going on with the body armor uniforms.

Doug Funnie!

This is Doug funnie from the Nickelodeon animated tv show Doug.

Nice to do something in a different animated style. I have noticed that a lot of times people, even if you have a lot of highly polished work in your portfolio, won't seem to think you are capable of doing something far more simplified. For me, I've always felt that once you have a basic nailed, simplifying becomes a lot easier and is far better handled.

Hmmm... now that I'm looking at he may have been a little wider in the midsection in the original....

little bit of client work

A little bit of client and freelance work here.

The third drawings down was a isometric drawings of a modular venice building to be used to create 3D assets for.

The bottom two character sketchs were some very quick loose gestural preliminaries. They were character designs for fantasy type beings composed of fire and water. I didn't really have a chance to finish and refine them past this stage too much-though I figured they were worth posting
